West System 105 Epoxy Resin 1L

Product Code: 1134301259

105 Epoxy Resin® is the base material on which all West System 105System epoxy compounds are built. The resin is a clear, pale yellow,low-viscosity liquid epoxy resin. Formulated for use with West Systemhardeners, it can be cured in a wide temperature range to form ahigh-strength solid with excellent moisture resistance.

105 Resin is formulated without volatile solvents and does not shrinkafter curing. It has a relatively high flash point and no strongsolvent odor, making it safer to work with than polyester or vinylesterresins. Resin viscosity is approximately 1000 centipoise (cp) at 72 F(22C),

105 Resin is designed specifically to wet out and bondwith wood fiber, fiberglass, reinforcing fabrics and a variety of metalswhen mixed at the proper ratio with a West System hardener. Anexcellent adhesive, 105 mixtures will bridge gaps and fill voids whenmodified with West System fillers and can be sanded and shaped whencured. With roller applications, it has excellent thin-filmcharacteristics to flow out and self-level without “fisheyeing.” 105Resin/207 Hardener mixtures cure clear so you can achieve a naturalfinish when coating with varnish.

No other epoxy will do

West epoxy is a system and it is very flexible. I especially appreciate that with the different types of hardeners that I can think as I go, not panic because the epoxy is hardening before my eyes. After using West epoxy for over 15 years, I noticed that my very first jobs are still pristine. I have used West on Ferro Cement boats, fiberglass boats and with the proper acetone preperation I have used it for glueing teak wood, all with a high degree of success. Be very carefull to wear a high quality mask when using the coloidal silica filler, the particles are so fine that they can remain trapped in the lungs. By the way, this particular filler is great for repairing large holes. Choose your fillers wisely, especially if you want sandability. The West system guides are clear and it you follow their advice you are going to achieve success.
